Hunter GuarinoOnly US Gold Medalist at 2009 Maccabiah GamesHunter Guarino won a Gold Medal for the USA in the 18th Maccabiah Games that were held in Israel from July 12th - 23rd, 2009. She competed in the 16 - 17 years old female KATA division. She is the only one who won a Gold medal in Karate for the USA. The Maccabiah Games is sometimes referred to as the "Jewish Olympics" and is held every four years in Israel, attracting the most outstanding Jewish athletes from around the world. As one of the largest elite events, the Maccabiah Games has grown to be competition to over 7,000 athletes from 53 countries.
